Personal Growth: My Struggles with Being Open Minded

Being open-minded can be really tough sometimes, trust me, I know. Most of us are brought up with a set of beliefs and values and, throughout our lives, tend to surround ourselves with people who share the same values and beliefs. Therefore, it can be difficult when we're faced with ideas that challenge our own and, though we may wish to be open-minded, we may struggle with the act of it from time to time.
I'd like to say I'm a fairly open-minded person, but, like most people, I do have some pretty strong views about specific topics and find it hard to sway from those opinions -- no matter how others might try to persuade me. Of course, I fully believe that having strong beliefs can be a wonderful thing and I believe we should all stay true to what we believe in, but having strong beliefs doesn't have to mean having a closed mind.
Though it can be tough to do sometimes, I've always found that when I open my mind, I've reaped a lot of rewarding benefits. There is much to be gained from opening the door to your mind and letting new ideas and beliefs come in. It's a process, but you can do it.

We need men

am all about women empowerment. Matter of fact, it is safe to say, I am a feminist. But, when it comes to gender equality, is the scale balance, or starting to tip over? To have a successful community, a successful nation, we need both women and men to succeed equally. We need men to succeed; we need them to marry and raise strong children; we need men as much as women if we are to rebuild the family. Given the daily attacks on manhood in our media and our culture, the odds of creating strong, good men are ever shrinking. Unless we give the same attention to our boys and young men that we give to their female counterparts, the situation will only grow worse. Without a determined effort to raise our sons with the same sense of hope and aspiration given our daughters, to let them know that masculinity is as positive a value as femininity, to teach them honor, courage, and virtue, we will see even fewer intact families, an ongoing sense of hopelessness and despa...

Be Strong and Give Your All

There is no need to conform to this world. Do you and be of a sound mind, knowing that there is consequences for all of your actions.  You have to reach deep inside yourself and see what your strength are, and what you can  contribute to society.  The more you try to be what you are not, the uncomfortable and exhausted you will become.

Learning from my Wrong

I am incredibly hard on myself when it comes to being wrong and making big decisions in life. But, being wrong isn't as bad as we make it out to be. I have made many mistakes and I have discovered few lessons from my experiences. When I look back on my choices from a year ago, I always hope to find a few decisions that seem stupid now because that means I have grown. If you only live in the safety zone where you know you can’t mess up, then you’ll never unleash your true potential.  There is no reason to be depressed or give up simply because you made a few wrong choices. Even more crucial, you must try your best every time because it is the effort and the practice that drives the learning process. They are essential, even if you fail. Realize that no single choice is destined to fail, but that occasional failure is the cost you have to pay if you want to be right.
